Welcome from the Sycamore Soccer Club
HOME OF THE SYCAMORE ARSENAL

The Sycamore Soccer Club is a select soccer club operating under the authority of the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association and the United States Youth Soccer Association.  We offer a competitive soccer training and playing environment for boys and girls in the U-8 through the U-18 age groups.  Our teams, known as the Sycamore ARSENAL, are widely recognized as playing with intensity, skill, and sportsmanship.

The Sycamore Soccer Club:  The Club is a founding member of the Cincinnati United Soccer League (CUSL) and regular season games are played around the greater Cincinnati area.  In addition, our teams play in soccer tournaments throughout the midwest, with the top ARSENAL teams successfully competing at the highest state and regional levels.  At the older age groups, the Sycamore Soccer Club fields high school-aged teams within the ARSENAL program, as well as encourages our most outstanding players to participate in the Cincinnati United Premier (CUP) soccer program.  CUP is a highly competitive program designed for older youth interested in playing in national showcase tournaments and in being recruited for collegiate soccer programs.

Training:  Effective Jan. 1, 2005, Scott Rodgers joined the Arsenal as Director of Coaching.  Concurrent with his ARSENAL position, Scott also serves in the capacity of DOC with the Cincinnati United Premier (CUP) Soccer Club.  Previous to these positions, Scott was the Head Coach of the Women’s Soccer Team at Wright State University, a Division-1 program.  Scott brings an enormous energy to the Sycamore Soccer Club and he is extremely involved in the local soccer community.  Scott is a Ohio South Coaching Instructor, is on the Ohio South Olympic Development State Staff, has been the OSYSA Dayton District Head Coach since 2001, and is currently on the US Soccer Region II Olympic Development Staff. 

We are also pleased that Director of Training for the Sycamore Soccer Club is the world-renowned Coerver Coaching Method Director, Charlie Cooke.  Charlie is truly recognized as one of the outstanding soccer trainers and educators of youth in the world, having conducted clinics training children throughout the United States, England, the rest of the European continent, and Japan.  Charlie's outstanding training regimen is implemented throughout the ARSENAL curriculum.  In addition, it is supplemented by professional trainers assigned to each team.  The ARSENAL training philosophy includes having specific trainers dedicated to one or more teams over multiple seasons, so that the trainer gets to know the players, their personalities and abilities, and the players get to know and bond with the trainer.  Our trainers are first-class soccer educators, and most have played or are playing at the college level or above.  Finally, ARSENAL teams are coached and managed by parent volunteers, whose passion and dedication for their youth compliments the training provided by our professional staff.

Sycamore ARSENAL Soccer Complex:  In the Spring 2003, the Sycamore Soccer Club opened our new training and playing facility near Mason, Ohio.  The new Sycamore ARSENAL Soccer Complex has ten playing fields for our exclusive use for training, league games, friendly matches, and tournament play.  The grounds are well maintained, and the facility provides ample space and equipment for a wide variety of training exercises.  We are extremely proud to have developed such an extensive and dedicated site for use by our soccer ARSENAL teams.

ARSENAL Challenge Cup:  Each August, the Sycamore Soccer Club presents one of the outstanding soccer tournaments in the area, the ARSENAL Challenge Cup.  The ARSENAL Challenge Cup provides competitive games for the teams in the elite, premier, “A”, and “upper-B” brackets.  In the past, we have attracted teams to our tournament from throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, and Illinois.  The ARSENAL Challenge Cup has a well-earned reputation as a quality pre-season tournament, and it is a source of great pride to the Club.  We hope that you join us in the future for tournament play.
